Chelsea is currently in the her third year studying to receive a BFA from the acclaimed musical theatre program at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music.  After she graduates in the spring of 2010, she’ll be cramming her entire life into her itty-bitty Honda Civic and moving to NYC!

Originally from Mandeville, Louisiana (right outside of New Orleans), Chelsea has been dancing since she could walk.  After taking classes in ballet, tap, and jazz in a number of local studios for thirteen years, she decided to try the more serious high school summer intensive program at the New Orleans Center for the Creative Arts (NOCCA).  Due to her dislike of painful pointe classes, she decided to skip over the summer dance program and give the musical theatre program a try.  Two years later, she was researching college programs that would help her to mold this new love she had discovered into a career!  After Hurricane Katrina hit the Gulf Coast, she moved to Lakeland, Florida to finish out her senior year (preparing for musical theatre college auditions at the Harrison School for the Arts) while her family stayed home to rebuild.  While spending time in Florida, Chelsea was able to perform in one of the first regional productions of CATS, win an Honorable Mention award from the NFAA, and have lunch with Jeb and Columba Bush!

After the insanity that was college auditions, Chelsea made up her mind to attend CCM for musical theatre.  Since her freshman year, she has performed in 2 CCM Mainstage productions, a Disney concert with the renowned Cincinnati Pops Orchestra, an original musical at the Cincinnati Fringe Festival, and CCM’s 2008 studio production of Urinetown (which she also choreographed!) all while maintaining a 3.5 GPA!  She is also proud of all 10 productions she was a part of in the 2005-2008 seasons at the Tulane Summer Lyric Theatre in New Orleans.

On another note, Chelsea is a huge fan of Alfred Hitchcock movies, navel oranges, ladybugs, the ukulele, and LOST.  If you share in these interests, prefer apples to oranges, or just find these interests interesting, don't hesitate to contact me!
